Allison Wolff is an interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, CA by way of Baltimore, MD. Some of her earliest childhood memories include being filmed while singing and dancing for family and friends at parties and repeatedly banging a screwdriver into the wall, while calling it art.
Fascinated by storytelling and art at an early age, Allison moved to Los Angeles to study all aspects of the filmmaking process. Through rigorously studying films, performance art and production, Allison began writing and directing her own concept driven photo series to further elaborate upon her understanding of the world around her. Later, she began writing short films where she would both act in and produce them. Through her ability to tap into various mediums, Allison discovered that she was also drawn to abstract painting as another mode of expression.
Her array of visually arresting avant-garde works aims to highlight implicit cultural themes associated with societal norms and expectations, gender, identity, psychology, and climate change. Allison uses her channeled art to explore her inner psyche, the human condition and as a means to challenge the status quo.
